Pure Americana on show at High Point

05/05/2006

The International Home Furnishings Market was held in High Point, North Carolina, USA, on April 27–May 3.

Across the range of furnishings the general theme to emerge was one of classic Americana–furniture designed and made in America–with clean lines and simple styling.

Just as the original Arts & Crafts furnishings came into prominence in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and were firmly established in America’s prairie region, today’s market is buzzing with renewed interest in one-of-a-kind products,” said Jackie Hirschhaut, vice president of the American Home Furnishings Alliance.

Said to be the largest wholesale home furnishings show in the world, High Point covers over 11.5 million square feet of exhibition space and attracted over 2,200 exhibitors and 75,000 visitors.
