The University of Northampton and CLRI sign MOU

India’s Central Leather Research Institution (CLRI) marked its Foundation Day on April 24 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The University of Northampton, based in the UK.

The CLRI is recognised as the world's largest Leather Research Institute and has direct roles in education, research, training, testing, designing, forecasting, planning, social empowerment and leather-related science and technology.

The University of Northampton is home to the British School of Leather Technology. The town has a history of tanning and shoemaking going back over 100 years.

The University of Northampton’s associate dean of Applied Sciences, Mark Wilkinson, explained, The signing event will formalise many years of close cooperation and friendship between the two organisations and is intended to recognise that even greater collaboration is required to meet the fast evolving needs of education and research in the world leather industry.”
