A district coordination committee has been established in Kasur in southern Punjab, Pakistan to launch an action programme to eliminate child labour from tanneries.

There are over 300 medium- and small-sized tanneries in Kasur and, according to reports, 250 centres for children welfare have already been set up, of which three are in Kasur.
