Quick estimates of index for leather industry

The Central Statistics Organisation of the Indian government has released its Quick Estimates of Index for Industrial Production (IIP) in the month of February. The general index stands at 227.3, 8.8% higher than the level in February 2005.
Despite 13 of the 17 industry groups included showing positive growth in February compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, leather and leather and fur products fell by 7%.
