US retailer of leather outerwear, accessories and apparel Wilsons The Leather Experts Inc. has reported sales of $27.9 million for the five-week period ended April 1, compared with $32.6 million for the five-week period ended April 2, 2005.

Year-to-date sales for the company’s stores also decreased 12.4% to $57.6 million in comparison with the 2005 sales figure of $65.7 million.
