Dublin-based market research company Research and Markets has published a new report on the use of biocides called Biocides Leather Global Report 2006.

The report provides information on the market for biocide products within the leather sector and includes market analyses and discussions of industry trends. It also assesses the impact of current and emerging regulations on the biocides used and develops forecasts for biocides from 2006 to 2011.

It offers an overview of the use of biocides in each of the major geographical regions and provides value and volume data for different biocides.

More than 30 companies are discussed in the paper, with ten of the most significant companies examined in depth.

The global consumption of biocides in leather was $49 million at active manufacture level in 2005, an increase of 40% from 1995. Countries such as China, Eastern Europe, India and South America continue to offer growth opportunities as per capita income rises and human health issues are accorded more importance.
