Brown Shoe Company announces senior management promotions

US footwear company Brown Shoe Company, Inc. has made several senior management promotions.

Brown Shoe president Diane M. Sullivan has also been named chief operating officer. Ms Sullivan joined Brown Shoe in December 2003 as president. In her new role as president and chief operating officer, she will also assume responsibility for the company's international operations, including world-wide sourcing and Brown Shoe International Sales & Licensing.

Andrew Rosen has been promoted to executive vice president, whilst also retaining his position as chief financial officer. Mr Rosen joined the company in 1974, and most recently held the position of senior vice president and chief financial officer. He oversees corporate governance and the Treasury, Accounting and Budgeting, Legal, Risk Management, Strategic Planning, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, and the Total Rewards and Executive Compensation departments.

In addition to these appointments, Michael Oberlander has been promoted to senior vice president, and continues as general counsel and corporate secretary.

Mr Oberlander has served as Brown Shoe's vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary since 2000. He oversees and has responsibility for the Legal, Risk Management and Internal Audit Departments. Prior to joining the company, he was an associate with Bryan Cave LLP, where he served on a team advising Brown Shoe.

Brown Shoe operates the Famous Footwear chain with over 900 stores and more than 300 specialty retail stores in the US and Canada under the Naturalizer, FX LaSalle and Via Spiga names.
