British leather manufacturer Pittards has signed a partnership and licensed manufacturing agreement with Taiwan-based leathermaker Teh Chang.

Pittards and Teh Chang have been working together for over a year and have formed a close professional relationship which has led to this agreement.

"We see the new arrangement as a marriage of the strengths of Pittards and Teh Chang which will bring real benefit to both parties," said Pittards Footwear Leather sales director Chris Sudborough. He added that production in Asia will be overseen by Pittards technicians.

Stephen Boyd, executive chairman of Pittards, said he was delighted with the new agreement. "Teh Chang has an excellent reputation and we have already developed a strong partnership," he said. "The new agreement will help both our businesses to progress and will also be of real benefit to our customers. It really is a win-win situation for everyone concerned."
