Vietnam’s footwear exports increase over 30%

09/03/2006

Vietnam’s footwear exports reached $581 million in the first two months of  2006, a 30.8% increase over the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Industry.

However, the Ministry is forecasting that the footwear sector will face difficulties due to competition and the European Commission’s ongoing anti-dumping lawsuit. However, several larger companies still have future orders which have been guaranteed through their foreign parent firms.
