Emotion warns retailers after shipment theft

UK-based manufacturer of fashion footwear for wider feet and calves Emotion has reported that over 2,000 pairs of its wide-fitting fashion footwear for its spring summer 06 range have been stolen whilst en route to the company’s warehouse in the north east of England.

The shipment consisted of two styles which were being delivered by road after being shipped to the UK from Emotion’s Brazilian manufacturer.

Police have been alerted of the theft on February 23 but there has been no further sign of it since that time.

Paul McDermott, managing director of Emotion Shoes, said that his biggest concern was the impact that the theft would have on customers. Without any stock on these lines we obviously can’t fulfil our orders for Alice and Annabel. We pride ourselves on the good relationship we have with our retailers and we are furious that we have been put into a position where we have to let people down,” he said.

Emotion has arranged for the styles to be re-made. They are scheduled to be flown in from Brazil towards the end of April. The company is contacting all retailers that had placed orders to check that they are able to accept a delayed delivery.
