The United States and Colombia have signed a free-trade agreement (FTA).

In a press release, US Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns said, I applaud the hard work of the US and Colombian negotiators who today concluded free trade agreement negotiations between the US and Colombia that will open new export opportunities for our farmers and ranchers."

Under the agreement products that will receive immediate duty-free treatment include beef and cotton and many farm products will benefit from improved market access such as pork and poultry.
