21/02/2006

French luxury brand Christian Dior has opened its first retail outlet in India. The move was made by the company after they saw an increasing number of Indian customers visiting its stores in the Middle East, London and Paris. Other brands such as Chanel, Bvlgari and Louis Vuitton, have already opened outlets.

The boutique, which is located in a five-star hotel in
New Delhi
, will sell products ranging from shoes and leather bags to costume jewellery and dresses. Prices are expected to be slightly higher than other stores around the world due to higher import duties.

The company hopes to open another store in Mumbai within a year.
