For the first time, a large number of tannery workers have gone on strike in Niaz Nagar, Kasur in Punjab, Pakistan.

According to local media reports, more than 400 workers announced that they would strike for an indefinite period over low wages, overwork and the absence of any medical or financial aid in case of emergencies. Talks between the tannery owners and union leaders have reportedly failed to resolve the matter.
