According to the Confederation of Brazilian Hides and Skins Industries (CICB), Brazilian leather exports grew 8% in 2005 to reach $1.40 billion from the $1.29 billion reported in 2004.

In December alone sales generated $131.9 million, 16% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
