Trumpler introduces new range of micro emulsion fatliquors

20/01/2006

Trumpler has introduced a new range of fatliquors based on micro emulsion technology called Truposilk fatliquors.

Micro emulsion fatliquors are based on extremely finely dispersed lubricant/polymer micelles which facilitate the manufacture of products with a wide range of application and benefits, allowing penetration of the softening components to the individual fibril.

The new fatliquors are said to offer outstanding softening effects with excellent penetration and distribution of the softening components throughout the leather cross section and very high fixation and exhaustion from the fatliquoring bath. They can be added directly to the drum and reduce expensive emulsifying agents in the fatliquoring process. They are also based on environmentally friendly, readily renewable raw materials and have low COD values in waste water. Furthermore, the new fatliquors offer excellent resistance to heat and light yellowing, have low fogging, VOC and fog values which lead to an optimum fatliquoring effect and enhanced cost effectiveness.

The Truposilk range currently includes two products, Truposilk MXF and Truposilk MXP. Truposilk MXF is a universally applicable, cost effective fatliquor, for shoe, clothing and suede leathers. Truposilk MXP is a polymer-based fatliquor designed specifically for upholstery and automobile upholstery leathers, which not only softens, but provides excellent filling and grain tightening properties.

Both products have been extensively test marketed in tannery trials with very positive customer response.

The further expansion of the range is envisaged in the near future.
