03/01/2006

The Brazilian Technology Centre for the Leather, Footwear and Allied Trades (CTCCA) has changed its name to the Brazilian Institute of Leather, Footwear and Leather goods Technology (IBTeC). The institute, which is located in the shoe manufacturing cluster of Novo Hamburgo in southern Brazil, provides technical and scientific support to the  leather and shoe sectors and is SATRA's representative in the country.

Professor Enio Klein, former director of CTCCA and current vice president of Institutional Relations of IBTec, said that the change includes expanding research into the area of leather goods. "This is not just a change of name. It also means a deep change in what we do," he stated.
