According to the Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (LEFASO), Vietnam's footwear export turnover is set to reach a total of $2.9 billion in 2005, an increase of 13.6% compared with 2004.

The European Union continued to be the main importer of Vietnamese produced footwear accounting for over 65% of all footwear exports, while exports to the USA continued to record impressive growth.
