Following the success of the inaugural FENAFIC - Leather, Machinery and Footwear Components fair in 2005, it has been decided to hold the show again in 2006. The event will be held from August 1-4, 2006 in Franca, Brazil, and according to organisers - Francal Feiras and the Association of Suppliers to the Footwear Industry (AFIC) – it has already sold out. At least 20 companies are on a waiting list for exhibition space despite a 25% increase in the area of the show, from 3,200m² to 4,000 m².

Abdala Jamil Abdala, president of Francal Feiras, believes that the success of FENAFIC is the result of various factors including the importance of the Franca leather and shoe manufacturing cluster as well as that of other clusters such as Jau and Birigui, the partnership with AFIC, and the date when the fair will be held.

The first FENAFIC attracted 180 exhibitors and almost 13,000 visitors.
