Dow elects new board member
Specialty chemical company, the Dow Chemical Company has elected Geoffrey Merzei, executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), to the board of directors, effective immediately. Mr. Merszei will serve on the Finance Committee.
He first joined Dow in 1977 as a credit manager and progressed through various roles in the finance organisation, becoming vice president and treasurer in 1996. In 2001, he moved to Alcan Inc. and served four years as executive vice president and CFO. Mr. Merszei returned to Dow as executive vice president in July 2005, and became CFO in October. He also serves on the Dow Corning Corporation board of directors.
Dow provides chemical, plastic and agricultural products and services to customers in 175 countries.
