Silvateam Peru, which was created in 2001 as part of the Italian Silvateam Group and which produces and exports tara powder and tara gum, has been named ‘company of the year’ in Peru’s manufacturing sector.

The company was developed to industrialise tara extract and its derivates with state of the art technology, to ensure the highest quality is obtained from its products.

As well as being named ‘company of the year’, it has also become the first and only company in its field to have obtained the ISO 9001-2000 certificate, the HACCP and the Kosher and Halal certification.

Silvateam Peru now plans to further improve the quality of its service by developing a new product line, and to increase its capacity through a systematic development of tara tree plantations.
