Natuzzi’s sales fall 11.1% in Q2

Italy’s largest furniture manufacturer Natuzzi S.p.A.has announced a fall in sales in the third fiscal quarter of 2005. Net sales decreased by 11.1% to 147.2 million ($179.5 million) compared with third quarter 2004. During the same period the total number of seats sold decreased by 8.9%.  

For the first nine months, net sales fell 14.4% to 479.4 million ($605.4 million), from 559.9 million in the same period last year.

During the third quarter 2005 net upholstery sales were at 130.5 million, down 11.3% over the same period last year. Other sales (principally living-room accessories and raw materials produced by the company and sold to third parties) decreased by 9.2% to 16.7 million.

Leather-upholstered furniture sales decreased by 8.5% over last year's third quarter to 110.5 million and fabric-upholstered furniture fell by 24.2% to 20.0 million.
