Boost for Australian meat exports to China

Australian beef, sheep and goat meat exports to China are set to increase following a Chinese Government decision to approve an additional 10 meat processing plants in Australia. This brings the total of approved meat processing facilities to 45.

Australian Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Peter McGauran said China took $50 million of high-quality Australian meat exports in 2004.
