Workers strike at DeCoro plant in China

07/11/2005

According to media reports, over 3,000 employees at Italian leather furniture company DeCoro’s Chinese facility have gone on strike over alleged physical attacks on three of their colleagues. Workers at the Shenzen plant claim that an Italian supervisor hit three employees during a discussion over a pay dispute leading to all three requiring hospital treatment.

President of DeCoro, Luca Ricci has apparently written to the three workers involved, but their co-workers went on strike in protest at their treatment and the company’s plan to cut wages.
