Phoenix Footwear reports 47.9% rise in sales

Designer and developer of men's and women's dress and casual footwear, belts, personal items, and travel apparel Phoenix Footwear Group, Inc. has reported a 47.9% increase in sales for the third quarter ended October 1, 2005.

Net sales for the third quarter increased to $34.3 million compared with $23.2 million for the third quarter of 2004. The strong top-line growth was primarily attributable to $11.7 million, or 34.1% of total sales, generated by the company's two recently acquired brands, Chambers and Tommy Bahama. 

For the nine months ended October 1, 2005, net sales increased by 36.5% to $76 million compared with $55.7 million for the comparable prior-year period.

The company's brands include Royal Robbins apparel, the Tommy Bahama, Trotters, SoftWalk, Strol, H.S. Trask, and Altama footwear lines, and Chambers Belts.
