India’s ML Dalmia appointed consultant for Bangladesh leather park

The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian consultancy firm ML Dalmia and Company Ltd, under which it will act as the consultant for the BSCIC's leather industrial city projects which are to be established in Savar and Keranigonj near Dhaka.

Under the agreement, ML Dalmia will draw up plans for a common effluent treatment plant for the leather park and will then install and commission the plant. 195 leather industrial units are planned at the parks which are set to create about 100,000 jobs.

ML Dalmia also worked on the Calcutta Leather Complex, the largest of its kind in India.
