LaCrosse Footwear reports fall in sales

Branded work and outdoor footwear company LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. has reported a drop in sales for the third quarter ended
The company reported consolidated net sales of $31.0 million, compared with $34.5 million in the third quarter of 2004, which was said to be the result of increased petroleum prices and a general slowdown in consumer spending.
For the first three quarters of 2005, consolidated net sales were $69.6 million, compared with $76.8 million in the same period of 2004. Sales to the outdoor market were $18.9 million for the third quarter of 2005, up 1% from $18.7 million in the same period of 2004. Sales to the work market were $12.1 million for the third quarter of 2005, compared with $15.8 million in the same period of 2004.
