Mexico’s CICEG introduces its National Study on Footwear Consumption

The Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato (CICEG) has made public its National Study on Footwear Consumption, an important tool for companies in the sector to use in their strategic planning, decision making and sales improvement.

The study, which cost 2.5 million pesos ($ 231,000), was commissioned by CICEG and carried out by the Centre for Economic Studies of the Private Sector (CEESP) in response to requests made by members of the footwear industry. It was done in the second half of 2004 and covers the 17 most important cities of the country, including the Federal DistrictGuadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Ciudad Juárez, León, Mérida, Morelia and Veracruz. It highlights important indicators such as types of footwear, brand positioning, market share, competitors and trading channels.

The content of the study can be accessed at CICEG offices in the districts of León and San Francisco del Rincón, and will soon be available in the Federal District and Guadalajara, where footwear industry chambers operate.
