21,800 visitors attend SIPIEL

The 17th International Leather Week (SIPIEL) took place at the Feria de Madrid September 29 to October 1, 2005, where exhibitors presented their spring/summer 2006 footwear and leathergoods collections. The event welcomed some 21,821 visitors, 3,928.of which came from abroad.

The breakdown according to countries shows that the largest number of foreign visitors (1,092) came from Portugal. Italy came next, with an increase of 8%, then France, with a 3% increase. The United Kingdom, Greece. Chile, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands and Russia also had a strong presence at the show.

Visitors were able to see the latest ideas for the spring/summer 2006 season from 822 footwear and leather goods manufacturers, of which 221 were foreign companies.
