The Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) has announced that its two abattoirs located in Lobatse and Francistown will close on November 25 for annual maintenance work.

As a result of this, the last cattle will be taken in Lobatse on November 23 with final de-boning on November 25. And the final intake at Francistown will be on November 25 with final de-boning taking place on November 4.

Both abattoirs will re-open on January 9, 2006.
