Robert M. Cooper, president and chief executive officer of The Uttermost Co., a decorative accessories company, is to join the board of directors of Hooker Furniture Corporation.

Ranked as the nation's sixth largest publicly traded furniture producer, based on 2004 shipments to US retailers, Hooker Furniture is an 81-year old manufacturer and importer of leather and fabric upholstered residential and office furniture. With approximately 1,700 employees, the company operates six manufacturing facilities in the USA.
