Several Brazilian companies participated at Le Cuir à Paris, held in Paris from September 20-23. Among them were BCB Couros, Cor do Couro, Polar Couros, Nature Touch and Cortume Runge.

Exotic skins was the main focus of the Brazilian exhibitors along with fish, ostrich, frog and cayman skins on show next to bovine finished leathers with interesting textures and colours. Leather with Brazilian herb and fruit fragances and the combined use of leather and fabric in clothing items attracted the attention of over 300 visitors and potential buyers from countries such as France, the UK, the Netherlands, the USA, Portugal, Korea, India, Italy, Japan, China and Kazakhtan.

CICB's efforts to promote exotic skins and leather with designs and textures is already proving successful as Brazil is already exporting fish and frog skins and fish and frog skin "blankets" to some of the world's most famous clothing brands. Trussardi is already making coats from Brazilian frog and fish skins and Dolce & Gabana is buying fish skin "blankets".

As a result of orders and contacts made at the show, it is anticipated that Brazilian exhibitors should export goods worth approximately $1.5 million in the next 12 months.
