21/09/2005

The All China Leather Fair 2005 (ACLF), together held with its sister exhibitions, China International Footwear Fair (CIFF) and Moda Shanghai, saw the number of exhibitors increase by approximately 15 per cent to 1088, compared with ACLF 2004.

Exhibitors came from 36 different countries or areas, showing products ranging from raw material through to top line leather fashion items.

According to the statistics of China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), the number of companies showing a ‘genuine leather mark’ or ‘ecotype leather with genuine leather mark’ also exceeded the previous fairs.

Quanzhou-based companies specialising in travelling shoes attended the show for the first time, and the Fuijian footwear industry association said they received a lot of foreign orders.

Chengdu city in Sichuan province, a key shoe production base in Western China, signed a cooperative agreement with French company CTC stating they will work together to build a shoe quality inspection centre in western China.

Visitors were most impressed with the exhibitors from India and Spain. Around 50 companies from India attended and 29 companies from Spain.
