Japanese experts visit Pakistan leather industry

Leather experts from Japan have made a visit Pakistan to offer technical assistance to the local manufacturers and exporters of leather products to help develop the leather industry in Pakistan. The advice given is expected to help the industry flourish, as well as aiding in the reduction of pollution levels caused by the tanneries.

The experts, Dr Suporn Koottatep and Prof Tayjoohwa, visited the Cleaner Production Centre, the Leather Products Development Institute and various leading industrial units in Sambrial-Sahowala-Daska, Uggoki and Sialkot city. During their five-day stay, they also addressed a seminar on "Leather techniques development".
