Hermès reports rise in profit

French luxury goods group Hermès International has reported a 12% increase in profits for the first six months of 2005, to reach €109.1 million compared with €97.4 million for the first half of 2004.
Meanwhile the company has also announced that its chief executive, Jean-Louis Dumas, will step down in January, 2006, for personal reasons. He will be replaced by co-chief executive Patrick Thomas.
