Economic Coordination Committee imposes export duty on leather

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), chaired by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, has imposed export duty of 20 per cent on raw hides, skins and wet blue leather. The ECC also waived the animal quarantine fee on the import of cattle, buffalo, sheep and goat from India at the Wagah border crossing, according to an official announcement. The government currently charges a quarantine fee per animal of PR.100.
