Hermes International has denied a report by French financial weekly Challenges that Belgian financier Albert Frere is seeking a 10% stake in the luxury goods group.

The report said Frere approached some of Hermes’ controlling owners over buying a stake of about 10 per cent in the business. Cie Nationale a Portefeuille, Frere's investment vehicle, refused to comment.
