Western China’s shoe making level develops

26/07/2005

According to the latest information from the government of Bishan County, Chongqing city, one of the largest shoe production centres in Western China, by the end of June local shoe-making enterprises had applied for over 400 brand names and 18 shoe making enterprises have been certified with the genuine leather mark by China leather Industry Association (CLIA).

CLIA said it was an obvious upgrade for western China’s shoe industry compared with the same period 3 years ago, when very few local enterprises had their own brands and were just making low quality products.

Bishan County puts much of the success down to the impartment of Aokang shoe group, with its advanced production methods since the Aokang’s production facility was established in Bishan. To help local companies grow, Aokang even set up some incubators for some small local factories and imparted its experience on brand fostering, sales strategy and production techniques.

Bishan government said that so far a lot of local shoe enterprises were following Aokang’s example to set up production workshops, train workers and introduced industry engineering methodology into production. More and more local shoe enterprises are on the way to fostering their own brands and plan to advertise at home and abroad while developing the product quality, an official added.
