Raichle launches XD Vertical for ambitious hikers

Raichle, Swiss manufacturer of active and outdoor footwear, has merged a hiking boot feature-set with mountaineering elements to create the XD Vertical, a hiking boot for ambitious walkers and Via Ferrata devotees.

The boot uses a motion control concept that provides optimum support for the foot while retaining the right amount of flexibility. This technology prevents the foot from twisting outwards thanks to an asymmetrically reinforced shaft, thus providing protection from injury. The boot has flex zones to the front and rear that enhance walking comfort.

The new Vibram Via Ferrata sole with a poro-wedge, used in the model, was especially designed for demanding hiking. The front part – the climbing zone – is hard and flat and has no profile, making it ideal for climbing iron rungs. The shock-absorbing poro-wedge reportedly provides excellent cushioning.
