To increase the competitiveness of local leather enterprises, the government of Xinji City, a key leather and leather garment production centre in China, are encouraging and assisting the local businesses to attend and exhibit the international leather fairs.

In April, the Xinji government organised a mission to attend Asian Pacific Leather Fair (APLF) and will also be advising businesses to visit the All China Leather Fair (ACLF). According to organisers of ACLF, with the support of the Xinji government, over 80 booths of All China Leather Fair (ACLF) have been reserved by Xinji leather enterprises.

An official of Xinji city said that, according to the preferential policy, a subsidy worth 30% of participation fee would be offered to each participating business by the Xinji government. To ensure Xinji gains recognition by the international market, the government plans to lead local enterprises to attend leather fairs to be held in USA and Germany with the help of China Leather Industry Association.
