According to the China customs’ record, from March to April the import of leather upper shoes increased by 470,000 pairs to 1.87 million pairs and in May it jumped to 2.14 million pairs. At the same time, the import of shoe-making accessories and leather machinery fell slightly due to the fact that a lot of the factories in Taiwan-based factories moved to China mainland.
