DuPont Kabushiki Kaisha has announced plans to open a new DuPont Automotive Center in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The centre will play a key role in system and application development for the automotive industry. The new facility is scheduled to be operational in October 2005.

The facility is designed to leverage competency from different functions including marketing, technical support, technology development and project management. DuPont business units will collaborate to meet the fast-changing needs of the automotive industry.

The centre will initially focus on serving the original equipment manufacturers for Japanese cars and its Tier 1 parts suppliers, including overseas operations. It will work closely with research facilities in the USA and Utsunomiya, Japan, and support various DuPont businesses.
