The Work Group has organised numerous initiatives including: two general Work Group meetings (the first in Italy in 2003, the second in Iran in 2004); the presence since the autumn of 2002 of delegations of Iranian footwear and tanning operators at SIMAC and Tanning Tech; a training course in Italy for Iranian footwear factory directors; an inspection of 10 tanning companies and a tanning technology conference in Tehran; and competitive strategy training courses (Mae-Pisie) in Italy for 40 Iranian tanning and footwear company executives.
ASSOMAC has also announced that Simac 2006 will take place one week earlier than normal and run from Wednesday 19 to Saturday 22 April. It will again be held in conjunction with Lineappelle, 19-21 April, at
