US-based designer and manufacturer of high-end office furniture, Herman Miller, Inc., has reported continued growth for the fourth quarter ended May 28, 2005. Sales increased by 15.2% to $407.5 million and orders increased by16.4% to $421.1 million from the same period last year. Net earnings for the quarter reached $21.6 million, the highest level in four years.

"Outstanding performance in our domestic markets helped us to exceed our consolidated sales estimate for the quarter," said Beth Nickels, chief financial officer. "This is the sixth quarter in a row that we've seen year-over-year sales growth and the fourth quarter in a row that it's been double-digits.”

For the full year, consolidated net sales totalled $1.52 billion, up 13.2% from fiscal 2004. Orders increased 13.4% to $1.53 billion.
