Brazilian leather exports increased 22% in 2004 on a year-on-year basis.

In terms of volume, exports of wet-salted hides fell by 27% compared with the prior year; wet-blue hides that account for 60% of total leather exports recorded a 19% rise, crust leather exports rose 4%; and exports of finished leather that account for 29% of exports increased by 32% compared with last year.
