Peter D. Arnold has been appointed president of John Varvatos Enterprises, Inc., a retailer of footwear, clothing And leather home furnishings. Reporting to John Varvatos, chairman and CEO, his appointment will take place in August 2005.

Mr. Arnold, 46 years old, joins John Varvatos from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) where he has been the executive director for four years. Prior to joining the CFDA, Mr. Arnold was a partner, specialising in corporate transactions, at the law firm Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP.

In a partnership with VF Corporation John Varvatos launched its collection for men in autumn 2000, offering tailored clothing, outerwear, footwear and leather furnishings.
