Manolo Blahnik to attend 100th GDS

17/06/2005

1956 saw the ‘Grosse Deutsche Schuhmusterschau’ (Great German Shoe Fair) open its doors for the first time and the event is celebrating its 100th anniversary next year.

Its grand anniversary in September 2005 aims to demonstrate all that the ‘GDS – Premier Shoe Event’ has stood for over the past half century: a trade fair platform that uses its sectoral know-how and its experience to implement future visions. It will focus not only on new trends and key opinion leaders but it will also reflect the global shoe market.

A sponsored exhibition “Schuhe – Shoes – Chaussures” – will highlight the show’s cooperation with Israel Miller with Andy Warhol and Charles Jourdan with Guy Bourdin and will feature works by footwear designer, Manolo Blahnik, who will attend the event in person.
