BMW Manufacturing Co. produced its 500,000th X5 Sports Activity Vehicle on June 9, 2005, five and a half years after the vehicle’s market introduction.

The milestone vehicle, an X5 3.0d, equipped with a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine, midnight blue exterior paint, mahogany trim and Walknappa Champagne leather interior, will be shipped and delivered to a customer in Hamburg, Germany.
