According to Vibram, maker and marketer of safety and workwear footwear, its VSM Technology “sole + slider” system, launched several months ago, is proving popular with Supermotard racers.

The system is said to show adaptability to different tracks, racing styles and boots thanks to the interchangeable sliders. Three kits for dry tracks offering good adherence, for wet tracks and for extreme and mixed conditions are currently available. The company says it shows performance through optimised control in complete safety as well as cost savings with lower maintenance.

Peter Öttl, KTM tester, says the racing version “offers the ideal balance between grip and slide” allowing him to “guide the bike even better during slides, but avoid taking excessive risks."

Giorgio Uberti, KTM Trophy racer said: "The Dry kit has become indispensable! I can now press my foot down on the track over long distances. Fatigue is reduced, I am more competitive and safety is improved."
