Malaysian leather car upholstery manufacturer, DK Leather Bhd., has reported positive results for the fourth quarter and full year ended March 31, 2005.

Revenue for the fourth quarter rose to MYR 27,455,000 ($7,225,512) from MYR 4,516,000 ($1,188,412.87) in the same period in 2004. However, despite high revenues, net Profit fell to MYR5, 306, 000 compared with MYR13, 356, 000 in the fourth quarter of last year.

For the full year ended March 31, DK Leather reported revenue of MYR117,222,000 compared with MYR4,516,000 for 2004 and net profit of MYR29,854,000 compared with MYR13,356,000 a year earlier.

The company has also expanded into Europe, having already established marketing offices in Germany this year DK Leather is now poised to move into Italy. The company plans to acquire a 51% stake in an Italian leather upholstery maker from where DK Leather plans to supply leather upholstery from its Malaysian plant to the Italian joint venture for distribution in Italy.
