Vietnam’s exports to USA soar

27/05/2005

According to recent official figures, Vietnam’s footwear exports to the USA rose by 30% to $111.9 million in the first quarter. The country’s footwear exports are also on the recovery in countries like Spain, with an increase of 19% to $19.39 million, and in Italy a rise of 13% to $36.51 million.

Trade experts expect US exports to rise even further with restrictions being imposed on Chinese imports and the surging currency in Brazil which is limiting this traditional footwear supplier to the country. There has, however, been a drop in exports to Germany, of 27.65%, and to France, of 25%.
